Dr Valerio Vittone specialises in DNA testing to identifying complex conditions relating to disease. He has a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Virology. He can provide personalised DNA based nutrition, health & lifestyle advice.

Epigenetics

How external modifications to your DNA can turn genes “on“ or “off“ affecting gene expression. We experience some of these external factors, such as stress, physical exercise, pollution every day in our life.

Nutrigenomics

How food, including micronutrients (vitamins and dietary minerals), interact with your genes.

DNA based diet

Creating a diet and lifestyle strategy that influences your health and gene expression, depending on your unique genetic makeup. Allowing you to be more resilient to the stresses that speed up ageing.

    What is Epigenetics?

Epigenetics is the science that studies external modifications to your DNA that can turn genes “on“ or “off“ affecting your gene expression and consequently, your health and wellbeing. You can tackle health problems by correcting your epigenetic factors. “Your genes are not necessarily your destiny“.

Cells activate or silence different genes at different times

Cells in different tissues such as brain, thyroid, gut, and muscle can activate or silence different part of its DNA called “genes“ at different times and are affected by positive or negative environmental and lifestyle factors.

Modification made to our DNA underpin health and disease

Epigenetic modifications made to our DNA underpin many essential processes in our body. Negative epigenetic factors can adversely affect our microbiome, metabolism and they can contribute to preventable chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, several autoimmune disorders and depression.

A DNA based approach to health & nutrition can positively influence how cells properly function : to slow their ageing and prevent cell malfunctioning

A DNA based approach aims to improve the complex network of epigenetic changes that positively affect cell functions and avoid cell malfunctions that slow the cellular ageing process, ultimately treating diseases & conditions for optimal health, fitness & wellbeing

    How we can help

    Nutritional genomics

Nutritional genomics, also known as nutrigenomics, is a science studying the relationship between human genome, nutrition and health.

How the body responds to food

How the whole body responds to a food via systems biology, as well as single gene/single food compound relationships.

How your lifestyle and Nutrigenomics influence your complex organism

These are the relationships between what we eat and how our body and microbiome process & absorb food and how the environment and exercise influence our risk and response to disease to maintain optimal health.

How both, your lifestyle and nutrigenomics influence your risk & response to disease

Studies on Nutrigenomics and lifestyle analyse the relationships between what we eat and our risk and response to disease and how these factors affect cellular and molecular mediators – factors affecting our gene expression and production of inflammation mediators, hormones, biomarkers and metabolites.

Reviewing my DNA and Microbiome results with Dr Vittone help me pinpoint health issues that have affected me all my life. He was able to connect the dots between multiple genes and give me insights with practical health and lifestyle applications that suit my microbiome. After years of GP visits without much resolve, he had me feeling better within weeks. I highly recommend Dr Vittone’s deep dive into my DNA and Microbiome.

I have suffered from chronic pain related to my monthly cycle since my early 20’s, alongside mood swings and anxiety. After a review of my family history, blood works and a DNA test, Dr Vittone identified several hormone-related issues, prompting further tests and referrals from my GP, after which I finally received a diagnosis. I highly recommend the process to fast track serious health issues.
